For 5th place we distributed the prize among all creators who made excellent projects didn't integrate random attributes into the game/project as was a requirement. Also nearly all entrants will have their monthly hosting costs reimbursed by WAX to help keep their projects going. Congratulations to all those who won!
Update 7/24/2019 - We received dozens of great entries for round 2 of the #WAXCreator contest… but none of them used the random attributes as required! We're extending the contest until August 7, 2019 @ 11:59pm EST so entrants can update projects to include the random attributes. Entries must make use of the attributes. For example if you made an RPG game you can create a Collectible Card that represents a sword w/ a random value for damage. Players should be able to use the sword in-game, with the same damage of the card available in their WAX Inventory. The WAX Creator has been a massive hit since launching three weeks ago, with more than 150,000 NFTs created on the WAX Blockchain using this easy and free self-service tool. We’ve added many improvements since going live, and today we introduce a massive new feature and a new #WAXCreator contest!
Introducing the WAX Creator Custom Attributes Feature:
The WAX Creator now features three categories of Custom Attributes for NFTs:
Generic Attributes: select any name/alue (ie: Class/Knight)
Unique Attributes - Random Integer: select a range of whole numbers that will be randomly assigned to each Collectible (ie: 1-100)
Unique Attributes - Random Float: select a range of numbers that will be randomly assigned to each Collectible (ie: 0.0000001 - .9999999)
Using these, creators can develop any attribute for their NFTs like WAX Stickers, WAX Collectible Cards, and WAX Digital Art. The attributes are displayed in the NFTs metadata. Create an endless collection of entirely unique digital collectibles that have different health, mana cost, attack power, defense power, locations, etc.
For example you could create a PvP game with different classes WAX Collectible Cards, and randomly assign fantasy characters different damage amounts. The more damage attributed to a character, the stronger the character is in your game.
You could randomly select certain stickers to be “shiny” editions. Create digital weapon skins, with different wear values or pattern index. The possibilities are endless, since you decide what the Custom Attributes are.
Five entrants will win prizes, totaling $10,000
1st place: $5,000
2nd place: $2,500
3rd place: $1,500
4th place: 2 @ $500
How to enter the #WAXCreator competition:
Submit a website, game, dApp or other project that uses the new random attributes listed above. There will be three entry rounds. To enter for each round (and subsequent rounds if you apply), tweet a link to your project to @wax_io using the hashtag #WAXCreator
Round 1: Enter your project by July 16, 2019 @ 11:59pm EST
Round 2: All entrants of Round 1 will have until July 23, 2019 @ 11:59pm EST to improve their projects. No new entries will be permitted into this Round - it is only open to participants of Round 1.
Round 3: Select entrants of Round 2 will have until July 30, 2019 @ 11:59pm EST to improve and finalize their projects. No new entries will be permitted into this Round.
